Recently I like to eat chili and spicy food. Not so sure, maybe because of my pregnancy??? I am not used to hot and spicy, but I do not know why I keep having spicy stuffs for my lunch, even dinner.
Yesterday night we went dinner at a Hunan Restaurant in Kuchai Lama. Most of their Hunan dishes were served with chili. Besides chili, it still chili, kekeke!
Since there were only two of us, Alex and I just ordered a Hunan style steamed Song fish head (go Hunan Restaurant must order Hunan dish ma….) and a Hong Kong Choy Sam fried with pork. Since there were quite a lot of customers, we were “warmed in advance” by the waiter that we have to wait for 30mins before the food can be ready and served. 30mins??? Aiyer…we reached there quite late, almost 8.30pm…then we have to wait for 30 mins…we can only have our dinner by the time it’s 9pm? OMG…but what can we do since we already order the food? Have to wait…but later on a waitress brought us an appetizer – Hunan style preserved cucumber. So, please expect cucumber with CHILI yea. The taste was not bad.
What excite me was the fish head…it’s was served in a big plate…super big! And till we cannot notice the fish head because it was covered by chili. Yes, lot of red chili…big chili, small chili. The look was nice in red colour…but the taste…hmm…I don’t think most of the people can accept the taste when first eat. It’s done in a very different taste. But both Alex and I were not the choosy type, so we still “sapu” the whole dish. The vegetable that we ordered was good, but towards the end, you will find it quite salty.
Variety? Yes, they served quite a lot of different dishes. But a bit pricey. The 2 dishes plus rice and a coconut drink cost us about RM70.
